Double Game week Thirty-Two Preview

Guys, I am really happy about being able to write after some weeks of absence (those weeks were really tough) but the most exciting thing about this is that you are reading. Let’s quickly get down to business, it’s a double game week (there are teams that will play their normal matches as well as an outstanding game). This post will have the preview of just the normal games first, the preview for the outstanding games will come on Tuesday. The Premier League title race is hotting up, the race for a top four berth is hotter but the race to escape the drop seems the hottest. So Let’s talk about the first ten games as I said earlier.

Fulham vs Manchester City (Saturday, 1:30pm).
Another change in manager hasn’t really changed the results on the pitch for Fulham, there are signs of revival, renewed togetherness but it is the scorelines that determine if you are going to stay up in the league. For Fulham, you can almost certainly say they will go down. Although, they nearly pulled a miracle against Liverpool last time out, Man City are a different beast to deal with. The game here at Craven Cottage and the Wednesday game against Cardiff are games City know they definitely have to win to pile the pressure on Liverpool. With the luxury of playing first, if City gets the win as I expect them to, the nerves could really kick in for Liverpool who will face Spurs on Sunday.
Prediction: Man City to win 4-1. (Aguero to score).
RESULT: Fulham 0 : Man City 2 ( B. Silva, Aguero).

Brighton vs Southampton (Saturday, 4pm).
They both have to win! Maybe Southampton needs the win more, they need to dig out points from wherever they can get as their result against Spurs shows. Brighton’s win at Crystal Palace really puts them in a good place and they really could be moving steadily towards safety especially if they get another win here. Nonetheless, I still think their home form could let them down and allow Southampton to nick the three points here but only just.
Prediction: Southampton to win 2-1. (Redmond to score).
RESULT: Brighton 0 : Southampton 1 (Hojbjerg).

Burnley vs Wolves (Saturday, 4pm).
It seemed like Burnley had a bit of a revival in the January/February period and then people felt they would not be in the relegation mix at this stage, but here they are. For them now, every point counts. They have it all to do against a Wolves team who have lost just a game in twelve. Wolves still have a lot of work to do regardless, for all their successes against the bigger teams, they have usually come undone in games like this. I’m interested to see how Nuno sets this team with both Man United on Wednesday and the Wembley FA Cup Semi-Final in mind. Wolves well set counter attack system really might not do it for them here and also regarding Turf Moof as a tough place to play, I’ll side Burnley in this game and for this too, only just.
Prediction: Burnley to win 3-2. (Jimenez to score).
RESULT: Burnley 2 : Wolves 0 ( Coady OG, McNeil).

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield (Saturday, 4pm).
Palace just have to attack the game with the right approach, right attitude and they can help themselves to three crucial points. It’s about pulling off upsets for Huddersfield now, they are going down but not without a fight! With the right mentality, Palace’s physicality can help them get over the line. They’ve been in the relegation scrap time and time again, they are used to the nerves and that should help them win this game.
Prediction: Palace to win 2-0. (Batshuayi to score).
RESULT: Crystal Palace 2 : Huddersfield 0 ( Milivojevic, van Aanholt).

Leicester vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 4pm).
It’s now two wins from three under Brendan Rogers, Vardy is firing, Maddison is creating and they even managed to smuggle the three points despite playing over 85 mins as ten men against Burnley last match. The feel good factor could be returning to the King Power Stadium where they will also mark the birthday of their late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha with free beer, water and cupcakes for fans this Saturday. The fans will believe the three points shouldn’t be beyond their reach against Bournemouth as well. Although the Cherries are not biscuit bone but a happy camp could help the Foxes crack Bournemouth.
Prediction: Leicester to win 2-1. (Vardy to score).
RESULT: Leicester City 2 : Bournemouth 0 (Morgan, Vardy).

Manchester United vs Watford (Saturday, 4pm).
Solskjaer has dragged United back into the top 4 reckoning and now that he has the job permanently, he must keep getting the right results to eventually get the club a Champions League qualification spot for next season. He can then focus on re-building.  Watford have to play this game, Crystal Palace on Tuesday and then Wolves in Wembley by next weekend, it would be interesting to see how Javi Gracia sets his team for all these games. They have the players to really cause Man United problems, I expect a very tough game but I think United’s quality will decide the game. A win for United here and perhaps a loss for Spurs on Sunday will really make the top four race more open.
Prediction: United to win 3-1. (Rashford to score).
RESULT: Man United 2 : Watford 1 (Rashford, Martial : Doucoure).

West Ham vs Everton (Saturday, 6:30pm).
Both teams are so inconsistent, they’ve become so hard to predict! West Ham can be very good in the first half of a game and then drab in the second, they go into the next game and it’s the exact opposite. Almost the same thing can be said of Everton, you look at how they were all over Chelsea in the second half and you’ll ask where that Everton has been all season. It’s going to be difficult to pick a winner from any of them, so I’ll go for a scoring draw.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Chicharito to score).
RESULT: West Ham 0 : Everton 2 (Zouma, Bernard).

Cardiff City vs Chelsea (Sunday, 3:05pm).
The London blues will be travelling to Wales to get back their top four bid back in play, Sarri’s team have suffered set backs severally this season. The game in hand against Everton was one and they really can’t afford another here. Cardiff can still stay up but they will need miracle results against teams like Chelsea to help them. They sometimes really have a go when they are at home but I think Chelsea’s quality will be too much for them.
Prediction: Chelsea to win 4-1. (Higuain to score).
RESULT: Cardiff City 1 : Chelsea 2 (Camarasa : Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek).

Liverpool vs Spurs (Sunday, 5:30pm).
Game of the week for sure! The results here affects everyone in the top six, it’s really that massive. City playing a day before and getting a win will put Liverpool under pressure and they have to find a way to deal with it. For me, Liverpool just have to keep their heads cool, play out their game and they can make the evening very comfortable for themselves. Sadio Mane’s outstanding form is a very big plus for them especially as Salah is having a bit of a dry spell now. They must also be very wary of Spurs, their form of late might be awkward but they are no pushovers, they even have their own ambitions and aims to achieve. Spurs could really dent the reds’ title goal if they come out with the victory here. Both teams have to go for it really and if Liverpool are truly interested in winning the league, this is a game they have to win. I think they will.
Prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1. (Mane to score).
RESULT: Liverpool 2 : Spurs 1 (Firmino, Alderweireld OG : Moura).

Arsenal vs Newcastle United (Monday, 9pm).
The Gunners mostly do well at home but the Fourth placed team will still have to be cautious of the Newcastle’s threats. Rafa Benitez has taken the Magpies on a run of six games with just one defeat, they are dangerous but these are the type of games Arsenal like to win. Arsenal have a really good run in to the end of the season and it would really be pathetic if they don’t get themselves into the top four, but with Arsenal expect anything. Here though, they will get the Emirates rocking.
Prediction: Arsenal to win 3-0. (Aubameyang to score).
RESULT: Arsenal 2 : Newcastle 0 (Ramsey, Lacazette).

  1. Nice predictions.
I think Crystal Palace would concede.
I also feel like Liverpool would draw their match against spurs.

    Good job mate!🙌

  2. Nice predictions and very good angles to back it up👍🏾.
Let’s see how the games turns out to be, on that note fingers crossed 🤞

  3. !!It gets really tough who to support as a Manchester united fan cos you need spurs to drop points but you want Liverpool to lose. At the same time we don’t want city winning the quadruple so to speak but all round, lovely analysis and let’s keep our fingers crossed.

    1. Man United fans are really finding a way neither City nor Liverpool will win the league. Not happening, gotta choose a demon still
