Gameweek Five Preview

Dear Premier League, thank you for coming back to send the International break packing for at least the next one month or so. The League is already as taking a juicy tone after the first four exciting weeks but let’s expect plot twists in the coming game weeks starting with the ten games this weekend that I’ll preview as you read on.

Tottenham vs Liverpool (Saturday, 12:30pm GMT +1)
A Wembley clash to begin with, Nice! Liverpool will go into this game buoyed with the fact that, they still have their hundred percent record, four wins out of four, nine goals scored, conceded just one goal and you know we can go on and on, but here is the truth, they have a strong team, ready to compete at the highest level and I think facing Spurs at this time, will be a real test of strength, character, defensive resilience and attacking power.

Jurgen Klopp and his Boys are heading into their biggest game of the season so far away at Spurs

Spurs themselves haven’t done badly this term, they would have also had the hundred percent record if they hadn’t lost last time out to Watford who are taking the League by an early surprise. Spurs are not a bad team, Poch has taken his time to select a formidable team that should be able to contend with any team they face. This match is usually full of goals, last season it ended 4-1 against Liverpool but I think it’s going to be a much closer and tougher match than that. High press from both teams, they both will try to pick each other out on counter attack. These are the type of games that judge champions mentality and if Liverpool wants to win the league, this match will be a good chance to make a statement and Spurs can’t afford to lose the game either, they have to pick themselves up after the Watford defeat. A match between the highest spenders in the summer and the other who didn’t spend a dime. It’s so hard to pick a winner here but I’ll go for a home win.
Prediction: Spurs win 3-2

Bournemouth vs Leicester City (Saturday, 3pm GMT +1)
It will not be wrong to say both teams have had a relatively good start to this campaign, their combined points is 13, it may seem average but they are both ahead of Arsenal and Man United at least. It’s easy to see a match where both teams will throw caution to the wind and try to attack, it means I see goals written all over the game. Jamie Vardy’s return from suspension could help Leicester’s cause but in the end I see a draw.
Prediction: 2-2

Chelsea vs Cardiff City (Saturday, 3pm GMT +1)

Eden Hazard for Chelsea 2018/2019 season
Cardiff will have to contend with the quality of Chelsea’s brightest Star Eden Hazard

I’m not very sure about why are should discuss this but in the premier league, you never know but this should be straight forward. Cardiff will try to shut down and defend and also attack Chelsea using set pieces because they won’t see much of the ball. I expect Chelsea to overwhelm their opponents and the Link up between Hazard and Alonso on the left wing is deadly. I just can’t see anything else from a Chelsea win.
Prediction: Chelsea win 3-0 (at least, lol).

Huddersfield vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm GMT +1)
I think by now we all know, which is even backed up stats, Crystal Palace don’t get points when Zaha doesn’t play and they get points when he plays. He’s expected to be back for this game and Huddersfield might struggle especially with his pace and trickery. If Zaha is involved, Palace will get at least a point.
Prediction: Palace to win 2-1.

Manchester City vs Fulham (Saturday, 3pm GMT +1).
Fulham should have won comfortably against Brighton after going two goals up but they couldn’t hold on. Talisman Striker Mitrovic is a man on fire, scoring goals for fun but I don’t think it will prevent a loss for Fulham at the Ethiad even tho they might have a good spell.

Alexandra Mitrovic scoring for Fulham
If Fulham are to stage an unlikely upset, they will need Hothead Stiker Mitrovic to continue his impressive form.

Manchester City will have to work hard and pray for luck that has been eluding them in past games. We know all about their game style and it should earn them a victory here.
Prediction: City to win 3-1.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal (Saturday, 3pm GMT +1).
Newcastle are sure to defend like they did in their last two games but I think they have a chance here more than in those two previous games because Arsenal looks vulnerable at the back in this their new style of play as they’ve shown all season even at Cardiff last time out. Arsenal lost here last season but Both teams really can’t afford to lose and this match can go either way, this makes me what you go for a draw but Arsenal’s extra quality could just nick them an away win.
Prediction: Arsenal to win 2-1.

Watford vs Manchester United (Saturday, 5:30 GMT +1).
Javi Gracia has made the hornets a very hard team to beat especially at home, since his arrival, he has gathered 23 points at home which is more than every other team in the league (Joint-top with Liverpool), it makes me feel Man United are right up against it but I’ll be backing the red devils here (again). From recent games, it’s obvious to see that game style has changed or improved for United, they are suddenly creating lots of chances for themselves, but that’s not enough because they have to start scoring. It affected them against Spurs and Watford could be equally dangerous especially on the break. This game will be more of a physical battle especially with Watford’s midfielders and their two centre forwards and I think United will also introduce players like Fellaini who are also physically.

With United starting to create chances, Lukaku needs to start scoring more goals than he misses

Difficult match for Jose Mourinho whose team is on a road of recovery, it really can go either way but I see a Red Victory.
Prediction: United to win 2-1.

Wolves vs Burnley (Sunday, 1:30pm GMT +1).
Burnley would probably be the team that welcomed the break the most, they needed it, their European tour ended even before the main event got started, they’ve had to sacrifice their premier quality and strength, So I’m Wolves is about facing a very different Burnley. But, Wolves are good, they play well, they probably need to score more but I’m sure they will try improve. Burnley will want to get them on a counter attack while relying on their own defensive abilities. Really good game, both teams are strong and I’m not sure who will come out on top here, so a draw will do.
Predictions: 1-1

Everton vs WestHam ( Sunday, 4pm GMT +1) .
WestHam can’t afford to lose here, they have to get something. They are not a totally bad team, they probably need to just work harder on the pitch and also pray for more luck than against Arsenal and Wolves where WestHam could have won both games. Everton are not exactly in dream land but Marco Silva has given the fans a playing style that befits Everton. They missing lots of players to either injury or suspension and the team is still learning, it could open up a way for the Hammers who I don’t will lose but could get a point.
Prediction: 1-1

Southampton vs Brighton (Monday, 8pm GMT +1).

After getting him from Liverpool this summer, Southampton will hope that Ings becomes a constant goal threat for them this season

It’s a local derby down South of England that I think the Saints will win. Brighton don’t really do well away and were even lucky to get that draw against Fulham at home. Southampton will call on Ings to be the difference here.
Prediction: 1-0 to Southampton.
