Gameweek Fourteen Preview

Happy New Month, We are happy to be back for the Premier League, we are also excited that this week starts a series of games that accompany December. I’ll skip the preview of last night’s game and just preview the nine games we have left.

Crystal Palace vs Burnley (Saturday, 4pm).
You have to give credit to Palace with the way they worried Man United last weekend, they themselves could have won the game and it’s a testament to their hard work. This week’s game is different, but they have to hit the levels they had against United if they want to win this game. Burnley have a lot of hard work to do as well, they’ve really been warm and cold this season, mostly cold. Palace needs to find themselves a regular goal getter as a striker to improve their fortunes but I believe they can still nick a win here.
Prediction: Crystal Palace to win 2-1. (Zaha to score).

Huddersfield vs Brighton (Saturday, 4pm).
Last week, Huddersfield went to Wolves and got a surprising three points, this will set up a high confidence for them coming into this home game. If they lose this game, then last week’s win becomes a fluke, they need to get the three points here to lift themselves on the log. Brighton might make it difficult for them even though they really don’t do well away from home. It will a tough game and it could end in a draw.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw. (Murray to score).

Leicester City vs Watford (Saturday, 4pm).
Watford did all they could last week but Liverpool broke them at the end, I had thought Watford could have won if they had taken some of their chances in the first half. They should go to this game with a sort of ‘vex’. Leicester won’t be easy, they came back from two goals down last week and won in the EFL midweek. If they beat Watford, it will be a proof that they are healing from their wounds and pains of the last month. This is a difficult game to predict, both teams can turn on the heat and get a win but I will go for a draw here.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Vardy to score).

Manchester City vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 4pm).
City stumbled at Lyon in midweek but this home game is what they need to show why they are still the top team in the league. I have said before that my only confusion when City is playing at home is the number of goals their opponents will concede. Bournemouth will give all they can and likely play not to concede plenty but it’s inevitable not to lose at the Etihad.
Prediction: City to win 4-0. (Sterling to score).

Newcastle United vs WestHam United (Saturday, 4pm).
Benitez and his boys have turned a corner here, three games, three wins on the bounce, they have momentum going to this game adding that it’s an home game. I worry for their opponents; WestHam, it felt like their fortunes changed around October, but now, if they lose this game, they will be deep in the mire. Manuel Pellegrini has lots of work to do, first is not losing this game.
Prediction: Newcastle to win 2-1. (Clark to score).

Southampton vs Manchester United (Saturday, 6:30pm).
Man United is another that appeared to have their issues sorted to an extent before the international break, the two games after the break show just how much they are struggling. They struggled to get a draw at home with Palace and they needed a last minute winner in midweek. I really don’t know what to expect from them against the Saints who themselves aren’t saints when it comes to the Premier League log. They’ve won just one home game in the year 2018. Managers of both teams are under huge amount of Pressure and I can’t see the two of them in charge of their respective clubs by 2019.
Prediction: United to win 2-1. (Martial to score).

Chelsea vs Fulham (Sunday, 1pm).
Chelsea have to recover from their Wembley battering, they were overwhelmed by Spurs on Saturday and couldn’t keep up the pace. They have another London derby with their neighbours to make things right. Ranieri will be happy to have started with a win last week but he still has a lot of work to do with defence that I think Chelsea will exploit a lot. If Fulham manages to get something out of this game, then maybe he is on his way to produce another magic in the Premier League by saving Fulham.
Prediction: Chelsea to win 3-1. (Morata to score).

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur (Sunday, 3:05pm).
Arsenal has a thing for being not so good in the first and then so good in the next half, if the Spurs of last week shows up then it really can be over by halftime. Arsenal hasn’t lost a game in a while, it will take something special for them to give up their unbeaten run at home. Spurs will need everyone and everything going well and I won’t be surprised if they win and if they lose as well. It’s a North London Derby and anything can happen.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Aubameyang to score).

Liverpool vs Everton (Sunday, 5:15pm).
Another derby, to serve us this week. I knew going all in against Watford last week would affect Liverpool in midweek, now they need a win against Napoli to avoid the Europa League which could affect their title chances. First, they have to get past Marco Silva’s Everton at Anfield, which is sometimes not an easy challenge. Everton are more equipped now to give Liverpool a run for their money. Merseyside derbies doesn’t always favour the blue side butI’m not going to write them off this time.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw. (Mane to score).
