Gameweek Ten Preview

Nine game weeks gone and the table is setting (at least, at the top and at the bottom). This gameweek comes after the week three of the European games and we should expect some hangovers. The big game of the week comes on the last day, I’ll give you my thoughts on this as well as the other matches as you read on.

Brighton vs Wolves (Saturday, 3pm).
The results both teams had last week were a bit surprising to me. Brighton won away at Newcastle and Wolves lost at the Molinuex to Watford. For Wolves, it all comes down to the fact that they are not scoring enough goals even with their exquisite style of play, I mean, nine goals is sort of a bad tally at this stage of the season. Brighton don’t do much away from home so picking up three points last week was priceless. They will be comfortable at home for this game, they will take the game to Wolves who seriously have to turn up to make this game a spectacle.
Prediction: Brighton to win 2-1. (Murray to score).

Fulham vs Southampton (Saturday, 3pm).
How do you solve a problem like Fulham’s defence? I’m sure even Jokanovic is asking himself the same question, it will take a miracle to escape relegation with that kind of leaky defence. Their constant rotation of formation and personnel (in search of a solution) is probably not even helping, I think they should stick with a pair for a while and hope for improvements. They will face a Bournemouth that is flying high this season and scoring goals as well.. Fulham will have their hands full and the defence has to be water tight to aid them to victory.
Prediction: Fulham to win 3-1. (Mitrovic to score).

Liverpool vs Cardiff City (Saturday, 3pm).
After that morale boosting first win of the season last week, the blue birds will surely have preferred not be facing Liverpool this week but it is what it is. In this match, I expect them to threaten Liverpool on set pieces but overall Liverpool should be too hot to handle. Salah and Mane should be back firing and should propel their team to a comfortable Victory.
Prediction: Liverpool to win 3-1. (Salah to score).

Southampton vs Newcastle (Saturday, 3pm).
This is a must win game for both teams especially Newcastle. Rafa Benitez can’t keep playing to draw, they simply have to win or else championship is calling, we are already nine games in and they are yet to win a game. Southampton also have to win this game and pick points off their relegation rivals. I expect both teams to really go for it but in the end I think the Saints will have the upper hand.
Prediction: Southampton to win 1-0. (Charlie Austin to score).

Watford vs Huddersfield (Saturday, 3pm).
Watford returned to winning ways last week when they won away at Wolves, I think it would have restored confidence to their team having not won in the previous four games before last week. I also think they will beat Huddersfield. Huddersfield last week lost yet again and haven’t won all season, David Wagner have to find a way to channel their “inner last season” to get something from this game.
Prediction: Watford to win 2-0. (Gray to score).

Leicester City vs WestHam United (Saturday, 5:30pm).
Leicester need to start finishing their chances if their game plan is to sit back and counter, they are not creating enough chances anyways so they to take what they have, it’s really costing them in games. WestHam have refused to win a game since they beat Man United but this particular game is there for the taking. Yarmenleko’s injury would be bad for them but Andy Carroll is fit and should get them firing.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw. (Vardy to score).

Burnley vs Chelsea (Sunday, 1:30pm).
Chelsea are still unbeaten this season and I expect them to still be unbeaten after this game. Eden Hazard can happily come out of “young’s pocket” and dazzle especially if Giroud starts up front instead of Morata. Burnley won’t really make it a easy work for them and they could even cause an upset. Sean Dyche will set up his team to not get beat at home in turf moor but I think Chelsea will be too strong for them in the end.
Prediction: Chelsea to win 3-1. (Alonso to score).

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal (Sunday, 1:30pm).
Palace have a tough job to do stopping the high flying Arsenal. The Gunners have won eleven matches in a row in all competitions now. Unai Emery is slowly returning belief into the hearts of the Emirates faithful. Even with their seemingly brilliant form, they still have to be wary at the back which is were Palace can hurt them on the counter with the pace of Zaha and Townsend. This match promises to be brilliant and I think WWWWWWWWWWWW Arsenal!
Prediction: Arsenal to win 3-0. (Lacazette to score).

Manchester United vs Everton (Sunday, 4pm).
Someone needs to tell Man United that the game starts when the referee blows at 0:00 not until when you’ve conceded. They start slowly, they pass slowly and they don’t raise the tempo of the game till it’s almost too late. Everton will be ready to punish any sloppiness. Everton seems to have their defence sorted and would need to focus in hurting United and their leaky/shaky defence.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Lukaku to score).

Tottenham vs Manchester City (Monday, 8pm).
I think this is Man City’s game to lose even though they are away. Tottenham don’t have all their players fully fit and it’s a tough asking them to actually stop Manchester City. I hope Spurs put behind their disappointments midweek and focus on this game. We know all about both teams and how dangerous they can be. I think City will maintain their unbeaten status.
Prediction: City to win 3-1. (Aguero to score).
