Gameweek Thirteen Preview

Welcome back everyone! We have our league to ourselves for the next four months. This gameweek’s preview is an interesting one because a friend of mine (ETI) previewed five games while I did the remaining five, the whole preview remains just as juicy.
We have lots of interesting games and we are expecting lots of goals as well. Please have a good read.

Brighton vs Leicester City (Saturday, 4pm).
I’ve always said Brighton play better when at home and with Leicester still recovering from the tragedy of the past weeks, it will be absolutely amazing for the Foxes to find so much strength to match the levels Brighton have that the Ammex. Regardless, this could be a wonderful game and I will be siding the Seagulls here.
Prediction: Brighton to win 2-1. (Murray to score). – Masco.

Everton vs Cardiff City (Saturday, 4pm).
Cardiff will be looking to increase their threat on the road and break the away scoring jinx, having scored fewer away goals (2) than any other side in English league football this season. However, The Merseysiders are undefeated in 13 Premier League home matches against promoted sides and have won the last nine. Cardiff last win against the toffees came in December 1959 and since then, the both teams have met eight times with Everton winning the last three games.
Everton duo Gylfi Sigurdsson (ankle) and Andre Gomes (leg) have been declared fit for Saturday’s match, and Cardiff City welcome back Harry Arter from suspension and Jazz Richards (hamstring) could also be available. A tough match for Cardiff City and a very difficult one for them.
Prediction: Everton to win 3-1. (Richarlison to score). – Eti.

Fulham vs Southampton (Saturday, 4pm).
King Claudio is back! Fulham unsurprisingly sack Jokanovic during the break and replaced him Ranieri. This is a match they simply have to win! Mitrovic has to return to scoring goals, the whole team has to help him and play up the pitch. Southampton will pose a tough test but they are beatable, they are not so solid as well and I fear for Mark Hughes, he could be the next to be sacked. I believe Fulham will find a win in their cottage at last.
Prediction: Fulham to win 2-1. (Mitrovic to score). – Masco.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 4pm).
The red devils will be looking to recover from the Manchester derby defeat and aiming to strengthen their position on the league table in order to stay close to the top teams. Similarly, Crystal palace are also seeking for the first 3 points in eight league games which can be difficult to achieve at the Old Trafford. Goodnews for Manchester united is that Paul Pogba who was absent for the Manchester derby has been declared fit with Anthony Martial. Interesting stats shows that Romelu Lukaku has scored in six of his last eight PL appearances against Palace, including both for Man Utd last seasons. In this game, Crystal Palace will try to take advantage of Manchester united defensive lapses with the absence of Christian Benteke while the red devils will look to play an attacking football and counter-attack the eagles.
Prediction: Man United to win 2-1. (Lukaku and Mata to Score). – Eti.

Watford vs Liverpool (Saturday, 4pm).
Watford are a formidable team and would cause Liverpool lots of problems. I don’t expect Liverpool to be a full strength because they have an important game against PSG in midweek but this game is equally important if they don’t want to drop in the title race. Watford need to take their chances if they want to pick out something from the game and I think they can.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Salah to score). – Masco.

West ham vs Manchester City (Saturday, 4pm).
What an exciting game this clash will be; with Manuel Pellegrini hosting his former PL side. Can West Ham be the team to put an end to the Cityzens unbeaten run? That is the question this clash will answer. West Ham look like they have got things sorted out on the pitch after a 3-match unbeaten run, while Manchester city are aiming for a fifth consecutive win in the PL. Manchester city will be without Benjamin Mendy who is sidelined with a knee injury for 10-12 weeks, Bernardo Silva will also be absent after he picked up a knock while on international duty. The last time West Ham defeated a top-team in the PL was in September 2015 against Manchester City and they will be looking to improve on this record by trying to snatch all 3 points. Meanwhile, the Cityzens are in for a serious competition and they will take this game as competitive as any other.
Prediction: Man City to win 4-2. (Aguero, Mahrez, and Anderson to score). – Eti.

Tottenham vs Chelsea (Saturday, 6:30pm)
I don’t see any of these two teams losing even though I think Chelsea has an advantage over Spurs. Tottenham are a bit up and down at the moment and with the fact that they have a must win against Inter midweek too but they raise their game for this kind of match. Chelsea have almost all their players up and running and they will give everything to keep their title hopes high especially as Coach Sarri has admitted trophies will determine the length of his reign at Stamford Bridge. Wembley’s London derby showdown will be a must watch and I think they will be inseparable at the end of the day but expect a dazzling match.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw. (Moura to score). – Masco.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal. (Sunday, 2:30pm).
Arsenal are looking to bring to an end a 3-match winless run in the PL while Bournemouth will be looking to recover after successive defeats in the league, particularly against Manchester United at the vitality stadium. This match will be one of the most thrilling matches of the week, with a lot of goals. Meanwhile, Callum Wilson has scored in all three of his top-flight appearances against Arsenal and he will be looking to match that of Charlie Austin (4) against the gunners. Both teams have no major injury worries which is a positive boost for both teams. The vitality stadium will be no easy ground for the gunners, giving that Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth has not lost consecutive home games since August 2017.
Prediction: 2-2 Draw. (Fraser and Özil to Score) – Eti.

Wolves vs Huddersfield. (Sunday, 5pm).
Wolves are very good with ball retention and possession and they gave Arsenal a run for their money last time out, I believe the really should have won the game but they have problem of not always scoring enough. They create so many chances but suck at scoring them. They will be all over Huddersfield I’m sure but they might not score as well. At the same time Huddersfield are not as good at defending for so long and might crack. If Wolves score the chances they create, this will be a walk in the park for them.
Prediction: Wolves to win 2-0. (Neves to score). -Masco.

Burnley vs Newcastle. (Monday, 9pm).
Without Ben Gibson, James Tarkowski, and Stephen Ward, Burnley will look to fight for the 3 points against Benitez’s Newcastle after six winless PL games. Newcastle’s last 12 Monday PL matches have all been away from home and they have lost 11 of those, only winning at Stoke City in January. However, they will be buoyed by the fact that Burnley have won just one of their last eight PL home matches, beating AFC Bournemouth 4-0 in September. Meanwhile Rafael Benitez has won only one of his last 11 PL matches against English managers, that victory came in his last such match, against Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth.
Prediction 1-1 Draw. (Rondon to score). – Eti.
