Gameweek Three Preview

We have had two fantastic weeks of the Premier League season filled with all it’s drama, several scenarios are already playing out with all Twenty Clubs. I hope this third week comes with narratives of its own with the 10 games that I will preview quickly.

Wolves vs Manchester City (Saturday, 12:30pm)
Wolves were extremely unlucky last time out, they hit the post twice and should have been at least three goals up before they conceded.

Sergio Aguero and teammates may prove too good for Wolves to handle.

They play good football and create enough chances for themselves but I think Man City would be too much for them. City are mesmerising and usually hit teams like this with several goals. Whatever lineup City starts, expect a victory.
Prediction: Big win for City.

Bournemouth vs Everton (Saturday, 3pm)
Both teams have had a very good start to the season and will be hoping to maintain the cruise. The South Coast team after expertly turning the game around last match would be more confident. The form of Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson will be key for them. Everton won’t also relent. Richarlison is thriving under Marco Silva, they both won’t want that to stop now. I can’t pick a winner for this match.
Prediction: High-Scoring Draw

Arsenal vs Westham United (Saturday, 3pm)

Emery might to be tempted to start both Lacazette and Aubamenyang upfront in hopes of a change in fortune.

Huge match, but I think Arsenal will win it. The both teams are yet to score a point this season and this London Derby feels like a Relegation battle. I think Unai Emery will feel the season starts here, the last two games were bad in terms of results but I think they could have won at Stamford Bridge. He has to get his forwards to put away chances created. Westham have real challenges, but the Manager has called for patience, let’s see how long he has got. Wilshere, Fabianski both return to the Emirates with points to prove, can they Spur the hammers on?
Prediction: Arsenal to win.

Southampton vs Leicester City (Saturday, 3pm)
The saints can’t afford another battle with relegation this season, Mark Hughes has to get his team creating and scoring goals that they lacked so much last season. Danny Ings made his full debut last week and was impressive, create chances for him and he’ll deliver goals. Leicester have lady luck to thank for last week, but they might not many weeks like that. Jamie Vardy is out now and they have to look for goals from elsewhere. Tough game but Southampton should win at home.
Prediction: Southampton to win.

Huddersfield vs Cardiff City (Saturday, 3pm)
It is a must win for both teams. The terriers have started horribly but they faced Chelsea and Man City, they need to beat Cardiff to get their season started and regain confidence.

Neil Etheridge has contributed to Cardiff’s successive clean sheets by saving two penalties in two games.

Cardiff can’t afford to be dropping points to Huddersfield if they want to stay in the premier league. They have good defensive resolve but they have to start scoring now.
Prediction: Huddersfield to win / Draw.

Liverpool vs Brighton (Saturday 5:30pm)
Brighton were all over Manchester United last week and deservedly won the game but Liverpool at Anfield is totally different. Liverpool at home are unstoppable, Brighton will have to be better than last week to pull off a shock upset.
Prediction: Big win for Liverpool.

Watford vs Crystal Palace (Sunday, 12 :30pm)
Like last season, Watford have started brightly. They lost concentration on the way, they will hope this season is different.

The Watford team is on form and hope to maintain the form against Crystal Palace

They meet a Palace team that were unfortunate against Liverpool but they also were dependent on the abilities of Wilf Zaha. He is going to need more support for them to achieve great things this season starting from this game.
Prediction: Watford with a narrow win.

Newcastle vs Chelsea (Sunday, 4pm)
Chelsea are amazing on the attacking front which is going to win them games but as at now they seem like the defence isn’t settled which is going to cost them games. Even with this, I don’t think Newcastle will cause them to many problems and with Hazard set to start, it’s not hard to see the winners.
Prediction: Chelsea to win.

Fulham vs Burnley (Sunday, 4pm)
Fulham play too well to have these early problems, but they have to score goals to win games. Ryan Sessegnon and Mitrovic have to be at their best. Burnley are distracted with the Europa league, it will be some work to win this game after their demoralising loss away to Olympiacos on Thursday. Fulham should get the three points.
Prediction: Fulham to win.

Manchester United vs Tottenham (Monday, 8pm).

Manchester United have to keep Kane and this teammates quiet to secure a win.

It’s actually stressful picking who to win the game. This is because United usually delivers when they are under intense pressure and Spurs are a very difficult team to play, they are good with the ball and they have Harry Kane. United can’t afford to lose this game and I think they will win it because of home advantage even though Spurs will make life very hard for them.
Prediction: Narrow win for Manchester United.

    1. Watford are defending better than they did last season as well as scoring goals, it will be very tough for Palace if they don’t help Zaha upfront.

  1. No big win for City, they should edge Wolves though..
Then Fulham v Burnley is too close to call. You can’t tell which Burnley will turn up.. Nice Preview all round 👍

    1. I don’t think the wolves game will be close except if wolves set up a barricade. City should win well.
Burnley might be tired from traveling from Greece and again play away from home on Sunday, but I agree it would be tight.
