Gameweek Two Pre-view

The Premier League season started last week and it was worth the wait! The games, the goals, the managers, the players, the stadiums, the commentary, it was great to have everyone back! Moving forward, the second week is here and we have some exciting matches to look forward to. I’ll preview the 10 of them here.

Cardiff City vs Newcastle United (Saturday, 12:30pm)

Neil Warnock and his boys wouldn’t like what happened last week at Bournemouth and would want to win in front of their own fans after returning to the premier League but I’m going for an away win here. Newcastle gave Spurs a tough time last week and should expect this match to also be difficult. Both teams won’t want to start the season with two losses in a row already.
Prediction: Narrow win for Newcastle.

Leicester City vs Wolves (Saturday, 3pm)
The foxes will be disappointed that they came out with nothing at Old Trafford last Friday after their hard word.

Ruben Neves scored an exquisite free kick last week and will hope to contribute again on Saturday

Wolves will be thankful they got a point from last week after passing the ball around without aim (at times). The match will be a tough one so I’ll go for a draw.
Prediction: Draw (Jamie Vardy to Score)

Everton vs Southampton (Saturday, 3pm)
Even with 10 men, Everton still played well, testament to why they wanted Marco Silva anyway. Their Manager in his press conference said Richarlison is fit it will help them again the saints who really couldn’t live with Burnley last week.
Prediction: Everton to win.

West Ham United vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 3pm)
I’m trying not to Judge West Ham by their match against Liverpool last week. Pellegrini is an experienced manager and will feel the season is just starting. They would like to take the frustrations out on Bournemouth who won vital 3 points last week. I also think this match will be a tough one but West Ham will show a little bit of quality they bought over the summer window.
Prediction: West Ham to nick a win.

Tottenham vs Fulham (Saturday, 3pm)

Fulham will be disappointed with last week’s result.

For all the money spent in the transfer Window, Fulham still lost at home to C’palace last week. The new boys have to jell quickly enough to cope with the quality we have here in the premier league. Spurs who didn’t spend anything in the summer will make light work of this match. Issues are still ongoing about where their new stadium will be finally ready but wouldn’t disturb their 3 points.
Prediction: Spurs to win.

Chelsea vs Arsenal (Saturday, 5:30pm)
Chelsea had a relatively good game last week, they could even afford to bring Hazard off the bench. Arsenal had a disappointing game against City last week but they are expected to show more quality this time. It is going to be difficult and I really can’t point who will win this match so I’ll go for a draw.
Prediction: Draw

Manchester City vs Huddersfield Town (Sunday 1:30pm)
Even the absence of Kevin de Bruyne won’t save Huddersfield.

Bernado Silva is one of the numerous options to replace de Bruyne in the starting eleven.

Although City might feel the impact long term but in this game, I expect them to overwhelm their opponents who were timid against Chelsea last week. It’s the first game at the Etihad, they will like to remind their fans why they are the champions.

Prediction: Big Win for City.

Burnley vs Watford (Sunday, 1:30pm)
I think Watford will win this one even though Tuff Moor is a hard place to go and win but they look like a proper team. Injuries and ill discipline cost them last season but they could be a different animal this year. They will be helped by the fact that Burnley played on Thursday in the Europa League. I hope Burnley will cope with that distraction well this season especially because they have a small squad.
Prediction: Watford to win.

Brighton vs Manchester United (Sunday, 4pm)

Paul Pogba will be looking to help United win the three points.

I think it’s time for United to be thrashing teams like this. Revenge should also be on their minds because they lost here last season. Brighton were poor last week, they couldn’t even get a shot on target! I know they usually up their game against teams of United’s status but I still expect United to get the job done.
Prediction: United to win.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool (Monday, 8pm)
Tough match! Palace have made their home a very hard place to come and beat them, it will take real hard work.

Zaha and teammates will hope to upset Liverpool on Monday night.

Liverpool seems to be the team to beat this year, they went through WestHam last week like they weren’t even there but Palace will be a different beast. Palace did well last week but I still expect Liverpool to beat them tho.
Prediction: Liverpool to win.
