Liverpool Review: This time, No Excuse

Only one football club in the Top 6 seems to be annoyed at the fact that the first finished 19 points above the next and they are ready to drag with City. Personally, Liverpool looks to me the only club ready to contest for the title with last year’s winners. The football is great, recruitment has been good too.

Liverpool will hope to be in safe hands with new signing Alisson Becker

The team now has a good Spine. Good Goalkeeper in Alisson, Mature CB in Van Dijk, Midfield powerhouse in Naby Keita and of course the deadly trio of Mane, Firmino, Salah in attack. What a season Liverpool could have here, much better than last season even. This should be a no excuse season for them, they will have a great first team as well as wonderful back ups. They may have lost 2 good midfielders in Emre Can (on a free) and Oxlade Chamberlain ( to a long term injury) but there are players that would be ready to step up.

Jurgen Klopp definitely has to do more than provide hugs to his players and deliver at least a trophy this year, they’ve come very close in the past including the UCL last season but this season I’m sure they will like to celebrate something. The mood around the club reads happiness, so could this finally be their year?

Jurgen Klopp is popular for being a great motivator

Players that I think will have points to prove:

Nathaniel Clyne: Injury robbed him of having many games last, his Right Back role went to teenage Trent-Alex Arnold who was equally impressive. Clyne will want a regular place in the team to show why he was bought from Southampton.

Adam Lallana: The 30 year old’s story is much like Clyne’s. Bad injury last but who want to fight to regain a place in the starting 11 even amidst all the new signings. He has the ability and I expect him to challenge.

Daniel Sturridge was on form during the Pre-Season matches

Daniel Sturridge: Injury problems too and I can’t see him getting a regular place especially with the red hot firmino. So he has lots to prove and to show he is still England’s most gifted Striker.

Predicted Finish: 2nd
